The obvious purpose of the first post in a blog should be to give everyone a sense of what kinds of things might be found here... so I clearly won't be doing that. Likewise, it would be a great place to explain the name of the blog. Also not going to happen; after all, if you are the type to get fixated on that sort of thing, I can think of few more joyful endeavors than to force you to figure it out for yourself.
Well, that about does it then. No point in being verbose. Plenty of time for that in other posts...
